I definitly recommend getting in touch with Gil, from the website mentioned above, as he is THE guru of the Luperon area, and he knows all the ropes... Send him an email, he'll know how to help you with good advice.

Default Great Website

Tuan, GREAT WEBSITE for Luperon!! It seems like a closed net family. Is it really as the photos portray? I've been searching on the net for Luperon sites but they are difficult to come by. I appreciate the website you posted. Now I'm getting really excited!!!
Thanks Tuan!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick

Default Speaking of Monte Crisiti area ....

Taken from DR1 News:

Search and rescue operations intensify
Search and rescue operations have intensified to find the 20 remaining members of the ship Abracadabra that sunk of the coast of Montecristi earlier this week. A US Coast Guard unit, as a well as the Civil Defense unit, the Dominican Navy and the Dominican Air Force are conducting searches of the area hoping to find any survivors. So far 19 people have been rescued but as the days go by, all hopes of finding survivors is fading. Hoy writes that a C-130 search plane from the US will be used, beginning today, in the search operation and Captain Valentino Cano said that the DR is asking for Haitian cooperation on the matter because of the possibility that some survivors might be in Haitian territorial waters.

Does anybody know the reason the vessel went under?

Stay well,
Amy

I read the same article. I'm going to try and find out when I get to my office. If you or anyone else find out in the meantime, please post it here?

Thanks,
Rick

Default LuperonCruising.com

Second Chance:
LuperonCruising.com is for yachties only. Would be nice if they had the $$ to pay search engines to find it, but it sure has grown over the years -- and yes, that's just what Luperón is like.
Punch up the various articles on the links page or the directory as well.

Default Puerto Blanco Marina

PBM is located in the NW corner of Luperón's western bay ("the harbor").
See the chart of the harbor at Harbor chart of Luperón from the "Gentleman's Guide to PASSAGES SOUTH"
where you'll find PBM at about 10 o'clock.
