Default Hello all...

Just wondering has anyone stayed at Plaza Real In Juan Dollio? seems like they are running a great deal for 10 days and while I plan to move around when im there it might be a good base of operation....

Its nice. Lots of apts, cool pool area, laundry, italian restaurant. Right in the middle of Juan Dolio too. But on the downside, big construction work opposite with lots of dust and mosquitos. Get a room further back and the construction shouldn't bother you too much.

I have stayed at Plaza Real many times over a period of a few years. The resort has improved with added services as they have grown. I would not hesitate to recommend people to stay there.
The rooms are nice and maid service is included so they are clean as well. I second everything Matilda wrote.
I always rent a room at the back of the resort to be futher from the street noise and dust from construction. The resort is not so big that it is a long walk to the front.
May I ask where did you find the rates for a 10 day stay?

Thanks for your replies as I will be heading there In October... I found this on Expedia Hotel and Flight. A great price huh??!!! The last time I was there I stayed at Naiboa (now Tropical Dream) and it was cool because If I wanted to go to Santo Domingo I could just cross the highway and catch a bus or head to San Pedro. I dont know why you cant book Trop Dream on line?? The area was great Im sure its better now and the people were fantastic!! Needless to say that we had lots of fun so much that I met and then introduced my friend to his now wife... Who I might ad is here In Jersey and aside from being a lil homesick It seems to have gone well... Considering it's been almost 3 years and a new baby. Thats just for all the folks who write about the situations that some people find themselves in when they take on a Dominican partner...Of course all people are not the same but if you're going to do it "Just Do It!!"... Ohg yea My last trip there found me in the hotel room maybe for 2 out of the 10 days I was there sooo I dont want to stay at some fortress locked away from the real DR... Its oh so exciting!!!

I hope that price includes flights as it is usually 48us$ per night - so 10 days normal price would make it 480us$

Kyle, I think he meant he stayed at Naiboa but he was out seeing other places and only hung around the hotel a couple of days.

Kaliek, If you liked Naiboa you will love Plaza Real. Naiboa usually gets bad reviews. Plaza Real is more central to the action in JD. You can walk in both directions and find something fun to do. Be sure to walk down Calle Blvd. to the left to Plaza Azul and meet Matilda.

I was In the streets so to speak hahaha we just moved around to diffrent places and met lots of people...The only thing that was bad was that we had those wristbands they give you at the hotel letting everybody know you were a target I mean tourist LOL.... For some folks I guess it might be a little crazy to hang out after hours but most people looked like us so they could'nt tell if we spoke spanish or not (which we did) and yes the price includes air fare which makes it a great deal...In Boca Chica it was crazy back then the discos were off the hook!!! I've herad they have closed some of them down??? However we found the action to be had at a number of spots some of the folks took us to.We met lots of people from The US and abroad and its like you just kind of looked out for each other because you realize that although it may be paradise you're still in another Country and you have to respect that...This time I want to go more north and in between to some of the places thats not on the radar.. I wanted to go to Hati but im not sure if thats a good idea ??
