Default (brand new video) sosua beach, dominican republic

YouTube - SOSUA BEACH, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

SOSUA IS A SMALL TOWN NEXT TO THE PUERTO PLATA OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. IT IS LOCATED 4 MILES FROM PUERTO PLATA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, THE TOWN IS ACCESSED PRIMARILY BY CAMINO CINCO, OR HIGHWAY 5, WHICH RUNS MUCH OF THE LENGTH OF THE COUNTRY'S NORTH COASTLINE. SOSUA IS DIVIDED INTO THREE SECTIONS: EL BATEY, WHICH IS THE MAIN SECTION WHERE TOURIST VISIT, SOSUA ABAJO, AND LOS CHARAMICOS

EL BATEY WAS THE SETTLEMENT AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 500 OF THE 5,000 GERMAN AND AUSTRIAN JEWISH REFUGEES FOR WHOM THE DOMINICAN GOVERNMENT ISSUED VISAS BETWEEN 1940 AND 1945. THE GOVERNMENT PROVIDED THEM WITH LAND AND RESOURCES WITH WHICH THEY CREATED A DAIRY AND CHEESE FACTORY, NAMED PRODUCTOS SOSUA, STILL IN EXISTENCE TODAY. DESCENDANTS OF THE ORIGINAL SETTLERS STILL LIVE IN SOSUA, WHERE THEY MAINTAIN A SYNOGOGUE AND A MUSEUM

SOSUA ABAJO, WHICH TRANSLATES ROUGHLY TO "LOWER SOSUA", IS LOCATED ON THE WEST END OF SOSUA IN A VALLEY NEAR A RIVER THAT DUMPS INTO SOSUA BAY. IT IS A LESS COMMERCIAL, MORE RURAL AREA OF SOSUA, AND HOUSES MANY OF THE WORKERS WHO COMMUTE TO THE EL BATEY AREA, NEARBY CABARETE BAY AND PLAYA DORADA

THE BARRIO OF LOS CHARAMICOS IS SITUATED BETWEEN EL BATEY AND ABAJO, AND IS A DENSELY POPULATED URBAN AREA KNOWN FOR ITS NIGHTLIFE, DANCING AND BAR SCENE

THE NORTH COAST OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC HAS BEEN A TOP TOURIST DESTINATION FOR EUROPEANS FOR NEARLY THREE DECADES. THERE IS A LARGE EXPATRIATE COMMUNITY IN SOSUA, WHICH CONSISTS OF MOSTLY GERMAN, ENGLISH, AMERICAN, AND CANADIAN PEOPLE

ARTIST AND SONG PLAYING N THE BACKGROUND IS TITO EL BAMBINO - VAMOS PA'L AGUA

TITO EL BAMBINO IS A REGGAETON SINGER WHO IS FROM PUERTO RICO WHO HAS RELEASED THREE ALBUMS WHICH ARE IT'S MY TIME, TOP OF THE LINE: EL INTERNACIONAL AND HIS 3RD INSTALLMENT IS EL PATRON

HIS BIGGEST HITS CONSIST OF

- SIENTE EL BOOM
- EL TRA
- ESTA NOCHE
- SOY, PLAYA Y ARENA
- ENAMORADO
- LA BUSCO
- DELAJA VOLAR

AND MANY MORE

Can you do us a huge favour? Can you take the caps off. It really hurts the eyes to read that. Thanks

I don't think so

Plenty of small neighborhood colomados, but no discos or dance clubs, no gringo bars etc. Most tourists would feel very uncomfortable walking around Charamicos at night.

This post is brought to you from Club Nautico in Charamicos, not that you would know.
If you live here and know Club Nautico, you'll get it

I'll post a video after the break....

Thanks JR, I enjoyed the Buena Vista Social Club, a little more soothing to listen to than Tito El Bambino.
