The place has been open four about four years. It is right next to El Vesuvio Malecon. It is a small club, but it gets packed. At first its easy to miss, if you are not looking for it, but once you know where it is you'll say "how could I have missed this?"

FYI I still have not been able to locate my PALO MUSIC CD, i have been looking for it a month now. I am still emptying out boxes at home so maybe i find it.....once i do i will let you know and see how i can get you the tracks

The idea of "best" is always subjective. What is best for you might not be for me, and vice versa. I guess the nature of Gay clubs allow for the atmosphere to be conducive to being fun, open, crazy, etc. I mean gays in our society are ostracized and spend most of their week "hiding" their identities and then they have this one club, Cha, where they can go and be gay and open and know that no one in there will judge them and that their identities will be protected. I would say it is rare for people to comment to each other, "hey did you see so and so at Cha last night."

SD is about class and status. Its about being seen, and letting people know they were there. It's about not sweating and having the right clothes and the right drink and the right pose and the right smile and the right friends. Fun is an after thought in SD. "My place" in society is what really matters, especially in the higher classes. Open mindedness is not possible here, except for those rare few who just live life as they please and go where they please as long as it pleases them.

There are some great places in SD that really cater to a different crowd and where people go to have fun. We'll try to keep you guys up to date on these places.

I don't know if you ever heard of a club called "Seven to Seven." That was the IT club in SD a few years back. Well, Seven became Cha and has been more successful as Cha.

a few friends in la capital i believe mentioned a club named Seven to me, I had no idea it was called seven to seven, but i heard it mentioned....i have never been to it either way even before it became CHA.
the last club i went to was Monte Cristo [dont remember the street if it was Churchill or Lincoln]...i had a great time.
My fingers are crossed I find my CDs, dont worry I havent forgotten!

Great Vid! I've only been to Cha once and it was kinda quiet. I've been to JD's a few times and always had fun. THe gay clubs in DR remind me of NYC back in the 80's. Then the straight people would start coming and ruin all the fun (no offence to my straight friends). But that was just how it was back in the day. THe gay clubs had the best music, best shows, great performers (madonna, Grace Jones, Cindi Lauper would all show up and perform)

I might have to give Cha another chance on my next visit....even tho i am not much of a club kid these days lol. gettin' old.
