Sorry folks for the “French blabla” but I’m trying to warn our new friend about the dangers of sending money and opening a bank account for la novia!

cokovla. Pour retourner au sujet, comme Pib dit, ta compagne devra prouver qu'elle a une raison pour revenir au pays ($$$$); maison, voiture, travail fixe, compte de banque (actif depuis longtemps)..etc.. pas pour te dégourager mon pot mais cela n'aidera pas qu'elle demeure encore chez ses parents.

Pièces à fournir

Documents à présenter pour l’obtention d’un visa de court séjour auprès du Service Consulaire de l’Ambassade de France à Saint-Domingue :
- formulaire dûment rempli et signé par l’intéressé
- photographie de face, type passeport, de l’intéressé.
- passeport en cours de validité (validité supérieure à trois mois à la date prévue du retour).
- copie de la réservation du billet d’avion aller/retour
réservations d’hôtel ou attestation d’accueil de l’hôte résidant en France (ce formulaire est à solliciter auprès du Commissariat de police ou de la Mairie du lieu de résidence de l’hôte).
- attestation de travail mentionnant le salaire et la durée des vacances autorisées par l’employeur du requêrant.
- tout justificatif des ressources de l’intéressé.


Visa de court séjour (égal ou inférieur à 90 jours)

A. Visa pour un voyage en France métropolitaine : visa "Schengen"

Les voyageurs peuvent solliciter ce type de visa auprès de la représentation consulaire ou diplomatique du pays de destination principale.
En cas de doute, la représentation consulaire du pays "Schengen" par lequel entrera le voyageur sera celle qui recevra la demande de visa.

Les visas Schengen ne permettent l’entrée dans les Départements et Territoires d’Outre-Mer français que si la vignette comporte en zone "Remarques" le nom du DOM ou du TOM de destination.

et bien ma copine vis encore chez ses parents,c'est vrai,ensuite elle est etudiante,donc n'importe qui peut concevoir qu'elle n'est pas de plan epargne...surtout en RD,donc ca sera au nom de sa mere le livret de compte bancaire.l'ambassade de France m'as specifié que sa sera sa mere qui devra se porte garant avec 50000 $RD mini .
Sinon je retourne pour la 5 eme fois a Santo Domingo fin decembre.DOnc tout la demande du dossier du visa je serai present avec elle,j apporterai,photo a l'appui,facture de telephone,tout moyen de prouver l'existence de notre relation.Et depuis un an on n'as fait aucune demande de visa,elle viens de se faire faire un passeport(donc jamais voyager).je vais aussi demontrer que je reviens avec elle a Santo Domingo avant l'expiration de son visa,et que normalement j'ai prevue en janvier 2006 de vivre 1 année voir plus à Santo Domingo. Mon objectif c'est de ne pas faire une immigration irreguliere au contraire,en plus je suis agent de la fonction publique(pas police,un truk au ministere de l'interieur...)donc j'ai tout à perdre.

The request for own means is a bit strange imo.. I've just been to the same process for Holland with a friend of mine (we invited his gf) and all he had to do was to act as guarantor for the girl..

right,but you ask a Schengen Visa,right???
Because hollande is include in Schengen law,so they will be the same for France,belgium,italia...i say it because embassy of France say we don t want to know that i'm the guarantor of the women,we want to know if she has garanted..i can show that i work,how many i win...but Embassy no quiere saber!!! ;(

This is correct.. they probably have asked for work salary slips of the last 3 months.. that's what they do for visa's for Holland.
