Default Visa for Dominican friend to visit US

I guess I allready asked the question in the title. What are the steps I need to take to help my friend in POP get a visa to come to the USA for a couple of weeks?

He has a passport and works at the POP airport.

Please advise

Default Good Luck!

Getting a Visitor permit from the republic for a person who is not wealthy is very rare. Many would say it will not happen. You can search the Archive to see past replies to this question it has been asked many times. see 10-13-2004 Visitors Visa Thread for example (just tipe US Visitors Visa in the search).

I also wish you good luck, but be prepared it will never happen. It is very, very difficult for an "avarage" Dominican getting a visa to visit a friend abroad.

Default An honest response

Quite honestly: The time wasted and money spent to try and get such a visa will be ill spent. I am married to a Dominican woman, we live here in the DR and they will not grant her a tourist visa so she can meet my mother and the rest of my family.

I think it was HB who said it, but to paraphrase "if someone qualified for a visa, she/he'd already have one before you met her/him".

A sad reality.
