when i called haiti we were put right through to the officer.
she gave me her personal cell and said that is the best way to reach her at any time of the day/evening. her email to me had her full name, extension # and her job title. I know there are others who have recently gone through this process that were also given this info and able to connect with their officer as required.
i do agree coco that if you know the name of the person you are calling and/or address an email to someone specifically you probably have a better chance at getting a response...although i really think it depends who the officer is and whether they feel like responding.
I kind of think it might have to do with the type of info that is being requested...giving the refusal verdict over the phone is probably considered "sensitive information"....i couldnt imagine being the officer and telling someone they have been denied....what an earful they might get!
when we were approved, she gave us the details over the phone and advised that she would be emailing us with the same information for our records.
So...if they give out approvals over the phone, it can't be a privacy issue....probably more of an excuse/policy to protect the government and their employees from backlash or being verbally attacked by upset applicants.
I hope I am wrong and that they are now sending Approval Letters....
