Yes, my boyfriend applied twice already. He just got it two weeks ago.
You have to do it through the "embajada de paises bajos". They ask for a lot of papers. You can check on the following website: www.holanda.org.do
And of course, the list is not complete. They can always request another document. And I think the best way is to have an invitation from someone that will be the "garante".

Once you have all the documents, you need call the embassy (809-262.0320) and make an appointment with them the day before you go.

Hope it helps.

What you need for a tourist visa.

To get in the dominican republic:
* a passport
* a "seguro medico" which covers your medical costs/ repatriation costs during your stay in Belgium.

To get in Belgium:
* an invitation of someone who guarantees to support you during you stay
* a copy of the identity card of the person who makes the invitation
* an income proove of the 3 last months of the person who makes the invitation.

Al these documents are going to the "embajada de los paises bajos".
As long as I know you don't have to wait very long to get the "yes or no".

Once you have given all the documents requested, they give you an appointment for the next week. Then you will know if you get the visa or not.

You have to bring:
- 2 pictures
- the form (found on their website)
- passport
- copy of the cedula
- a flight reservation for Belgium (this will tell the dates you want to go, so choose well; the visa will start on the day of your departure flight)
- a letter from your employer with salary, time working in company, etc.
- a letter from the bank
- letter of invitation with declaration of warranty, signed by the "garante" and legalized in the "commune" or "gemeentehuis"
- copy of the identity card of the person who makes the invitation
- proof of income of the 3 last months of the person who makes the invitation.
If you don't have an invitation: proof of hotel reservation submitted by the hotel, with you name, dates of stay and price of room

Make a copy of all the documents.
