I was recently in the DR visiting a friend and met an amazing 8th grade boy. He is living in such poverty and I would love to give him a "leg up" I am currently looking into paying for private school for him but also would love to have him come visit us in the United States to immerse him in the English language for a month or two this summer. Would that be possible? I'm not sure what kind of VISA he would need and if it is even possible. We would pay him way here and all the expenses necessary while he was here. It would have to be OK'd through his parents of course. I am unsure what other legalities we are looking at. could anyone help?

Check this site Legal Requirements for F-1 Foreign Students in Public Schools it will give you the details of what's needed for a student visa.

Good luck
