Which is faster?

I'm still a bit confused about which process is fastest in being able to bring my fiancé over to the US and begin my life with him. Would the process be shorter if I married him in DR, and then apply for a K-3 visa, or is the K-1 visa the way to go? I know I sound a little impatient, but I can't help it. Please help...
