Default How long to get back the passport for visa to Canada?

Does anyone know how long it takes to get back a passport, when they send it to Haiti to insert the visa?

Depends if they loose your passport or not.

If they loose it...which has happened...it will take a lot longer.

I'm not sure of the standard time, they should tell you when you drop your passport off in SD.

I'm sure some posters who have gone through this experience will reply soon!

Was that for a permanent residency visa? Castro's husband has gone for his interview already.

Castro others have written that when they return to Haiti it normally takes a week or two. Let's hope they put a rush on it.

My husband dropped off his Passport on a tuesday in SD and was called two weeks later to pick it up on a thursday.
Im sure they all vary... But at the SD Consulate the lady at the desk told my husband "we will call you in 2 to 3 weeks" And they did..

Can anyone tell me if there are certain days that you can pick up your visa? Or could you be called to pick it up any day of the week?

Hours of Operation

Canadian Embassy, Santo Domingo
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

With Christmas coming up it's best to call and find out if they are open especially if one has to travel a long way to get there.

First of all, to my understanding he was told to drop of his passport which he did. And I told him to carry everything with him just in case. When he went to his appiontment they took his passport. I guess they saw that he had carried all his documents, proof of stuff we sent wedding album along with all kinds of other pics.He said he saw the application I sent with everything in it, and she asked my husband to look at the photos he had and was comparing them to the ones she had. She also mentioned that I had very high phone bills all the time. And briefly interviewed him, which they never told him he was going for an interview. Stuff like where we meet? Has he meet any of my family?, and how we talked to each othe?,and that was it. She spoke no spanish, which was fine. He speaks english well. Then the next day someone called him and told him that if he can get the reciept number from me, when I paid for the application he could have all of thi pics back. So now we are waiting for the call to pick the passport up. So with that said I really don't think he was deined anything.

Just in case anyone wants to know.

December 21 /07 last day of business.
Reopen on December 26/07 for business.

This is what they told my husband that day he was there. They also told him there was no certain day they drop off the passports to Haiti.
