Hi marxsis
Yes, they do want you to translate the police cert. My husband spent two nights in SD to get everything done. He did one police cert that you pick up the next day, but he was told he had to get the police cert that takes two weeks to get done( so he has both). My husband told them he can't wait two weeks. He offered the cop money to get it done faster and it was ready the next day. The police also found a translater for him to get the papers done( which was cheaper than in PP) , they also called and made an appointment and told him where to go bring his papers. Where he had the papers translated they also typed him a letter to insert in with all his paper work explaining everything he sent. And kept a copy just in case for his own records. My husband was treated the same way in SD, he never even went inside the Embassy, the gaurd outside gave him everything. The funny thing is my husband already had everything they asked for done the week before, because Haiti sent a message to my MP requesting them and said we would here from them soon but we went ahead. So he could'nt even talk to the lady on the other side to let her know they were all done already. But the only difference was, the new medical papers already had all his pics on the papers and were also stamped. So guess what we redid the medical again just in case. They already have the results from Trinidad because, I asked my Mp if they could send Haiti an e-mail asking if the medical needed to be redone with the papers with his pics on them. Since he already did redo the medical the week before( my MP sent a message to Haiti and Trinidad sent me one back to let me know what to do). We did'nt wait to here and went ahead. But Trinidad sent me an e-mail telling me that they did already send the results to Haiti(so it was done twice, better safe than sorry). It's now been a month. So now they say they are doing a background check....how long does this take. When does this ever end, marxsis you know first hand what I'm talking about. My husband sent the papers UPS and we tracked it online. Instead of going back to the Embassy, plus they would recieve it faster and we know they signed for it and they have them in their hands and can't say they did not receive them or did not get them before the 90 days. By the way when the clinic in SD sent the medical to Trinidad, and from the time Trinidad sent the results to Haiti was 10 days. I would have thought it took longer. I guess it's Haiti that takes their time doing everything. But they seem to blame everyone else. Good luck to everyone!!!

Castro/Marxsis - Had you e-mailed Haiti at all in the past year? How many times? Did you ever get a response from them?

I was e-mailing Haiti like crazy in January when nothing was going on, and because his medical was expiring on JAN 19/2008.No they never e-mailed me back. So that's when I went to my MP and they started e-mailing them for me. Haiti gets back to my MP within 3 days. This is my only way of knowing what is going on with my application.

Thank you so much castro....I will get the police certificate translated, which costs more money, but I guess I don't have a choice. She just had her medical finished, so on Monday she's going to get her police certificate, and pay da police....lol....for more rapido service. This is crazy, I e-mailed them 4 months ago regarding the medical/police and everything else that was going to expire, and they responded "Do not do anything until we tell you to" ??? But I knew they were going to request this stuff, why wouldn't they just let her do it, so they can just hurry up and finish the application? Ooh wait.....my bad.....I used the word hurry....oops....they don't understand that....
To answer your question Iexi. Yes I had emailed them about 4 times. First email was sort of a plea for them to hurry up, which they responded, saying they are hoping to finish our file at the end of December 2007......And the others were address changes, and I think one was a basic question regarding the process...which I have never received a response, but I noticed by checking online that they did change my wifes address (I guess it is to hard to respond "Thank you, your address has been change" So never-the-less....back to waiting....At least I have you guys to share this ride with....ERRRR

Hey Castro, Yeah they did finish our DNA testing, and it has been confirmed she is our daughter....YA! Basically all I got for almost $900.00 was a paper that said the DNA samples collected are consistent with the DNA collected by her mother. (In other words a match) The Embassy would have received the same letter, which was shipped via Fed-ex. My wife is going to get the police certificate this morning, then we have to find a certified translator...any suggestions?
