Hi everyone....Hi Castro .....Ok I have sorta good news for people going through the process. Yesterday my wife went and picked up her police certificate. While she was out, before going to get the police certificate translated she wasn't far away from the Embassy, so she swung by to get the exact mailing address for Haiti to get it mailed out later that afternoon. Well to make a long story short when she spoke to the lady at the embassy, she told my wife that she doesn't need it translated, and that they will mail it to Haiti on her behalf, telling her that Haiti will get it by Thursday. That is good news, because I was looking at another $150.00 to get it translated, and FedEx'd....So back to waiting!

I hope this helps others going through the same thing

Wow that's great!!. How was she able to speak with a lady. I thought they only talk to you if you have an appointment. Which police certificate did your wife get done? There's one you pick up the next day or there is one you get back in 14 days.

Hey Castro, I believe they only have one police certificate now. My Wife paid extra to have to certificate done in about 45 minutes. They also requested a new photo. They no longer excepted the on they had on file.

I do everything now through my MP. So the last we heard after we sent all our documents that expired in march was, that my MP was told by Haiti they should know something the first week of June. So if we don't hear anything from Haiti I will be contacting my MP to e-mail Haiti to find out what stage of the process they are at, at that time. Crossing my fingers that it will be over in June . I'm planning on going the end of May or first week of June. I'd rather spend the money on a ticket to Canada instead.

Hi Castro,
first I hope that your long wait will soon be over!!
second...what is the average amount of time you would say it takes for your MP to get an answer from Haiti? I had a feeling that there was something wrong with my husband's papers as the website still says unavailable after 5 months. I went to see my MP who sent an email 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear something. I know Mart007 said it's usually 2-3 days...just wondering what your experience has been.

Hi Jo-Anne

When my MP sends a e-mail to Haiti, it's about 2-3 days later we get a answer back from their office. According to my MP, they have to answer back in ten days or they send it to The Minster of Immigration next. I don't understand why mart007 and you both still say unavailable online. It should say in process by now.

Castro,
thanks for the reply.
I called my MP's office today and of course 2 weeks later they still had no reply. The assistant wanted to wait another week to hear from Haiti and I said no email again today because I have read that other's get a response in 2-3 days. Within 2 hours he had reply. Although the reply was very vague. Just that the papers are in the queue and they are being paper screened right now.
I have a feeling the file was somewhere else/misplaced etc etc.....a girl from Hamilton saw her husband's papers go to In Process last week and she was approved 2 months after me. So I knew 5 months without seeing the change was a problem. Most other's timelines have seen it change between 1 1/2 and 2 months after being approved as the sponsor.

At least now I know they have them - but I asked the MP's assistant if he got the B file number (which was the original request) and he said no then told me that Haiti would mail it to my husband...I laughed and said not that office. From all I have read no one's spouse has received it via mail. So he replied back asking again for the B file number so we can track it online. So now I have to wait for that response.

My heart really goes out to you and Mart for all the time you have been waiting and the delays you have faced and the fight to get the information. Please know that posting your info is helping others
