Don't go by the views because people that are reading this may not know the answer. Unfortunately those that have gone through the process in the past have moved on with their life one way or another and are no longer answering questions.

Going by what others have posted in the past I don't remember anyone saying they received an acknowledgment letter from Haiti. As you know they have posted that they get a client number to check on the Canadian Embassy website in Haiti.

I can't speak for recent history but back in 1999 when Yris and I started the process to bring her to Canada the Embassy in Santo Domingo phoned her and told her to bring her passport in, and 3 weeks later(another phone call) she had her Landing paper/Canadian immigrant Visa with a grace period of six months. During the whole process they sent her one letter asking her to send more pictures and that was it, no interview...etc. Now this may have been for a number of reasons- more experienced and dedicated person working on her file, absolutely perfection in the paperwork we sent in, her being a well educated professional with a computer like brain and me a long time government worker used to government paperwork. The updates online seem to take forever, but in hindsight it wasn't that long. Our total process - May 1999 to March 2000. When my wifes nieces came to Canada in the summer of 2006( age 15 and 18) for ESL school. They also received phone calls to give the Embassy(Santo Domingo) their passports and two weeks later they had their visitors Visa. Her brother tried to do the same thing and they denied him- not sufficient ties to the DR to return- even though he owns a business and two houses. Go Figure. Patient my dear and good luck.

Thanks for all the info.... I'm not to concerned if I get a letter or not. Because my husband did recieve an e-mail stating they were paper screening his application and that's when they also gave him his B client number. I know they are working on something, as I had to get my MP involved to find out the status of our application and that seems to work. They always seem to get back to them. We also had to redo his medical and police certificate, because everything expired because they only statred working on his file 8 months after we summited it. They have never asked for any other info or documents, besides redoing the ones that expired. So really I think my husband would have been here months ago. Because things seem to be going the way they should have, minus the extra months, money we had to spend again. I just think it's funny how other Embassy's post that info online letting the people know who are sponsoring each step they take, and I think Haiti would get less e-mails,phone calls and people who are upset if they were as organized as these other Embassy's. I guess Haiti does not give these letter's out. But according to Ottawa, they say we should recieve a letter of acknowledgment. Who knows..... But thanks for all the feed back. Oh by the way I've run out of patience as it has been almost 14 months in process....

Good Morning

For the record I have never recieved documents or a phone call from the Embassy. I simply entered the ID number of the application and it says IN PROCESS. Now we are just sitting and waiting

We have received nothing from the Embassy and only know the papers are there after 2 emails from my MP's office. Now we are waiting for the website to update to In Process.
Once I see that I will have my MP's office request the B file number as I know they will not respond to us directly.

Why does everyone want the B number? What does this do for you that you can't already see on the computer?

Lexi,

The B file number allows you to look up your spouse's application on E-CAS and it provides more detail.
Using the sponsor's client id you will only ever see - Not Available, In Process or Decision Made.
