I have a new question. The AOR letter that was sent to me says that no processing will occur on my file for approximately 12 months. However, I just went in E-CAS and it says there that my application is IN PROCESS and that they started processing my application on May 30, 2008. Is that what it is supposed to say, given the facts indicated above, or did they start processing before that 12 month period?

Default My husband got a call

Hi All

Well this good be very good news. My husband got a call this afternoon to bring his passport to Santo Domingo Thursday ( tomorrow) morning at 9:00 AM. He asked if he needed anything else and the girl said no just bring your passport. She really would not tell him anything else. So I am hoping this is our last step. it is hard to believe after waiting 2 years my husband might actually get his visa tomorrow

What is an AOR letter? I never heard of a letter going out saying there will be no processing for 12 months, what isup with that. I am so confused over what happens in the process, no one is treated the same and we all seem to get different information.

AOR letter is "Acknowledgement of Receipt Letter" in which they provide me with a file number, a receipt for the application fees that i submitted and the next steps. The letter specifies that there is queue of applications in my category and that they estimate that no processing will occur on my file for approximately 12 months.

I'm wondering if this is something new they are doing so people don't keep sending emails and making calls to Haiti after their application is in.

Might be a good thing, it will give the embassy people less time on the phone and computers in order to work on the applications.
