Smile Great news

Hi Mart
Im so happy for you guys. Jose and Juan were talking to each other when I was down there. We were going to meet him Satuarday, but missed the call. He told Jose they called him to pick it up on Friday so I knew when I was down there. Jose tried to call him Sunday and his brother said he left for Canada already . I am so glad it is over for you and he is finally here with you keep us updated. I ll call you in a couple of days after he settles in. Jose and Juan got along great....like they were long time amigos. Too bad we didnt get a chance to meet him....maybe next time we all can hook up. Talk to you soon. Good luck..

Like I said I can only assume this is positive, and that our application is complete and they are finally going to receive their visas. Does anyone know once they receive the visa how much time we are given for them to fly to Toronto? In other words what is the window of opportunity before the visa expires.

Today when my husband went to the Embassy to drop off his Passport a Guard asked him if he wanted to drop it off with him and my husband said no thanks, I will wait until they open. (He was there super early). When he went inside the lady (who only spoke Spanish to him) asked for his phone numbers and that was it. But when he went back outside the Guards wanted to chat Dominican style and Mario said they were really nice guys. He said they were asking him if his wife had a lawyer do the papers and he said no we did them oursleves. He asked if he had kids and he said no. They were telling him it wouldn't be long now until the visa came back.

My husband can chat for hours with anyone except he got all nervous when he went in the office becasuse he didn't ask any questions then! He told me that when he got home he realized he didn't ask any questions and he called them with the phone number they gave him but he said there was no answer. He then remembered that it was Friday and they quit working at lunchtime. I told him to relax and that they would call him or e-mail him again.

Marxsis - how long after your wife dropped the passports off did they get the call to pick them up? Thanks for the tip about Westjet, I have already been looking, I just wish I knew when for.

Hey Lexi, My wife dropped off her passport I believe on July 11th, I remember it was a Friday when she did, and then she got a call on the July 31st telling her to pick it up on the following Monday at 1PM. When she picked it up, they gave handed over all of our relationship photos we submitted, letters, receipts ect. Plus the landing immigration papers and passports with the visas issued. As far as WestJet goes, we got lucky with the price, as they were sell offs. As far as I could find WestJet is the only one that will let you book one way from Puerto Plata, or Punta Cana to Toronto. The rest of the airlines make you buy a round trip. WestJet only leaves on Saturdays. Anything else let me know. My fingers are crossed for you.
