Calling your Mp.....
Well I would just like to add that I started my application from March12/07, recieved a letter from Mississauga letting me know I was approved. Then May10/07 we went "in process". I thought things were moving really quick. I never started e-mailing Haiti until August when I came back From seeing my husband. And I sent a message asking how long the process was going to take. I did recieve an e-mail back telling me it would be 6-9 months in total from the time it leaves Mississauga and when Haiti is finished with it. I never called or e-mailed them Again.. I waited the whole 9 months and that's when I wanted some answers. I won't get into details but My husband did get a call Dec10/07 to bring in his passport, he goes to bring it and then recieves another call. Letting him know to pick back his passport three weeks later. When he went to Santo Domingo it was only a letter waiting. To make a long story short, this whole thing was a scam going on and the police were involved and they returned my husbands passport to him. That's when my husband finally recieved an e-mail from Haiti(Dec12/07), letting him know that they started paper screening his papers(8 months later), and that he would hear from them shortly. They also gave his B client number. But we already had it from the guy that was involved in the scam. They both were the same number. Now how would someone that does'nt even work for immigration Canada get that info(inside job, he was going to sell the passports). He was from Tampa Florida, my husband was told by the police he was arrested and deported back to his country, there was also a lady from Gremany too. There were many peoples passports involved. But my whole point is, I only started getting any answers from Haiti because I did get my MP involved and they were e-mailing them to find out where in the process our application was. If I e-mailed them, I would not get a response. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, sometimes I think you do need to contact them to give Haiti alittle push to get moving. But I do agree I think you need to sit back until aleast 6-9 months before you started trying to contact them. Some posts I have read, they only have their applications in acouple of months are already starting to get their MP invloved. They really have'nt even waited for Haiti to get started. But I also did hear if you do get your MP invloved it can take longer, I don't know how true it is. That's why I waited 10 months before going to my MP. And for our application it was worth it, because things now are moving again. Hopefully it will be over soon. Just for the record the first part of the process is easy, it's the waiting and the unknown later that's harder. I'm only sharing this with you, to show you that it can get complicated and keep your eyes open and to pay attention to every little detail during this process. The one thing I learned from this whole process so far is, you can't even trust Immigration Canada with your paper work. I feel like my privacy was invaded and that Immigration Canada did nothing to protect me either. So who can you trust. NO ONE..... Please read this as a eye opener and not to trust anyone during your process. Immigration Canada would feel no way to lie to protect their asses... I hope someone gets something out of my experiences and doesn't have to go through anything like this. I hope this was atleast helpful to someone reading this.... Good luck to everyone going through this process . We all need to be a support system for each other during these diffucult times, and a shoulder to cry on during rough times too. As for mart0417, I feel for her she as gone through alot. And to see everyone else seeing that their status online changes while hers remains the same, I to would be very frustrated . But thank god it did finally change on her husbands bclient number. Least now she may have a peace of mind that it is being processed now. Good luck everyone.

there have been a lot of posts lately and its seems that some are getting a little too worked up.
i was just trying to be calm & realistic....not trying to offend anyone.
castro i am sorry about what has happened with your husbands passport...it is a very unfair situation to say the least...it makes me feel sick to my stomach that the government will let these things happen & then cover it up..they should expedite your application & those who were affected to apologize for the security breach.
marxis is the same...waiting forever & being put through hoops for what? just to delay it & delay it for no explainable reason.
i agree with your post, some times it is the right thing to do to get the MP, government or whomever can help involved....depending on the circumstance.
i also agree there is no point in bothering the immigration office if it is NOT necessary....in case it does prolong your file
it isn't fair that some countries are processed in 2 months and ours takes 8-17 months.
i hope that everybody gets their answers as quickly as possible and that it is the answer we are all hoping for

Regarding people getting to worked up, the post I posted last night. Sorry If you feel we are getting too worked up. But I thought sharing my experiences with people on here would benifit others and could learn from my experiences. And having all of our information out there for any Joe blow to get his/her hands on it, I think you would be worked up too. You put your trust in Immigration Canada and then they fail you. Are you sponsoring someone right now? And/or have you gone through this process yourself. If so why don't you share your story with us, maybe we can also learn from your experiences too.

Castro, she did say in another thread that she's getting ready to submit her papers to Immigration Canada and that she will more than likely be singing a different tune in 6 or 7 months

Hi Anna
Really, so this is someone that has no experience on this topic but yet seems to know all about. I don't wish anything on anybody, but you really don't know what this is like until you are going through it yourself. Well I'll I can say is I hope she does'nt have to go through everything some of us have gone through. And it goes smoother for her and her husband, but she will soon know what we all are talking about.......Thanks for the support Anna.

this will be my last post as well.
good luck to you all
you are right...i dont know yet what is ahead for us...will it be a easy ride or prolonged and unjust? who knows?
I do know that I will handle whatever comes with patience & a realistic understanding that our government sucks.
I have watched a good friend go through this process and be rejected by immigration.
i am about to go through it myself....hopefully with a positive outcome.
i have thanked you all for your assistance so far with my personal questions.
i have shown my support for the way that it feels.
whether your application is in progress or not it still feels the same to wait for your husband/boyfriend/wife/girlfriend to be together.
there are more than 900,000 people on the list waiting for the same thing we are.
WE are not alone in the waiting game....We are not alone in our feelings.
once again, good luck to you all.....may your unfair situations be resolved as soon as possible

Oh people!!!!!! Enough with the "this is my last post"!! Everyone is enititled to their own opinions and just because they do not agree with you is no reason to get upset and not post anymore. This is getting ridiculous! Some of us like to hear from all of you! Don't stop posting, this is such a great place to go to update everyone on what is going on right now with your application so others can maybe learn from it.
Hopefully you both will change your minds and keep us all updated.

I would just like to comment on what you said about "whether your application is in process or not it still feels the same for your husband/boyfriend/wife/girlfriend to be together" But when you do have an application "in process" and things really are not going the way they should be going and you waited for months to see what would happen, and you gave Haiti the benifit of the doubt. With no changes, you will soon start to run out of patience that's all were saying. It's easier to read and give your opinion from the outside, but it's a whole other ball game once you come in to play, and have an application "in process". I really don't think anyone here was trying to upset you sangria. So please don't take it that way.. Don't stop posting, you will realize soon DR1 becomes almost like a life line that you can't live without, because there are alot of great posts and info on here!!! And great people too...
