Mart0417 - I used DHL to send a couple of papers to my husband and it was really fast. It ended up taking only 24 hours to get to him from Canada. I would recommend them for sure!

Default acknowledgement letter from Haiti

After going through as much information as I could, I found in several locations that Haiti is suppose to send an acknowledement letter when they receive your application. I have never received one nor has my husband. I am wondering if anyone else has ever recieved notification from Haiti that their application is there. ( excluding the website)

Hey mart0417

I never recieved one either. I called Mississuga and I was told not everyone gets one of these letters, and that it does'nt matter. When we spoke to Ottawa the lady there said that you should recieve a letter of acknowledment. So do you see why Haiti and everyone else does'nt have a clue what they are doing. No wonder why no one's application is getting done. Their to busy sitting on their axx's .

I have looked at other Visa Embassy websites. There is definitely different processes at different locations.

Amongst other information....
Mexico - website states that they will send out an acknowledgement letter 15 days after they receive the application from Mississauga
Tiempos Estimados de Proceso

Jamaica - website states to wait 8 weeks for the acknowledgement letter
Jamaica :: Home :: Discover Canada :: Visas and Immigration

Aside from the fact that other Embassies "allow" you to contact them regarding the application (as opposed to Haiti where their website flat out tells you not to contact them) most people wouldn't need to email Haiti if they sent out the ack. letter which contains the B file number. Then you could use E-CAS as they instruct you to do.

So does it say anything anywhere that Haiti sends out a letter of acknowledgement? Has anyone recieved a letter from Haiti that has gone through the process or is currently going through right now?

Wow, I just checked out those websites... I'm impressed in how organized the Embassy in Jamaica and in Mexico are. Why does'nt Haiti post all that information too. Instead they post, "don't call "if "you send more than one e-mail, we will only answer the last one you send". But who are they really trying to kind, cause they don't even do that. They are suppose to get back to you within 28 days. Do they .......NO.

No nothing like that from Haiti.
In fact under Important information they state they may not even respond - just make a note in the file

If your enquiry concerns an application already being processed in our office we will send a personalised answer only if the processing time is longer than announced or there is a problem. Otherwise, the correspondent must assume that we have noted his/her message and that processing of his/her application is proceeding normally.

Haiti :: Home :: Discover Canada :: Visas and Immigration

I guess that's why I got no response when I sent a message via the webstie and asked if they received the Use of Representative form that my husband forwarded via the consulate in Puerto Plata.

I heard someone say you are taking your chances if you give anything to the office in Puerto Plata then via Santo Domingo for them to send it to Haiti for you. It may or may not get there. Me personally I like for my husband to bring it there himself or we send it UPS so we could track it online. That's just my experience though.

Default In process - interesting

I thought this might be fo interest to some people

August 18th papers sent to Mississauga
Augsut 28th approved as a sponsor
Sept 22nd papers sent to Haiti

This is where it gets interesting. Mississauga says everything was sent Sept 22nd. Haiti told my MP they received the papers Feb 8th. March 11th my husband received a letter stating Haiti wanted our original marriage certificate, his original birth certificate, and another police record clearance. I have never recieved any acknowledgement letter from Haiti, not have they ever responded to any inquiry I have sent.

On the website for my client number it states unavailable, so jsut out of curiousity I checked my husband's B file number and it states
We started processing your application January 22nd 2008 .

I find this very interesting as we were told they did not receive our papers in Haiti until Feb 8th.
