Default medicals for immigration Canada

Hi

I was concerned that our application would not be processed before my husbands medical expired again! My Mp's office just got confirmation that his medical is good until May 2009. I thought medicals expired after one year, but apparently today I find out ours is good for 2 years. So I guess they won't be in any rush to finish before his medical expires.

That is strange because CIC website does state that it expires in 12 months.
Maybe they are giving your husband an extention??
Hopefully this is a good sign and it is so that they don't have to put anything on hold and wait for new medical results and can finally issue the visa

I know that is why I was concerned because it says 1 year and we have already had to redo them once. But we have it in writing that they are good until May 2009, so that's what I am going by. I am jsut hoping we do not get penalized if this is someone's mistake in Haiti.

Seeing as you have it from writing from Haiti and they are the ones making the decision regarding the medical then I'm sure it will be fine.

Well that's the first time I have ever heard that a medical is good for two years. If that's the case, why the hell did we just have to redo my husband's. Nothing this Embassy seems to go the way it should. I really don't think they know what they are doing there. Mart would be calling Mississauga and would be asking some questions regarding a medical being valid for two years. It clearly states that it is good for only one year. So did they make the rules up as they go. Cause I really would have loved mine to expire after two years. This is really staring to get costly. Crossing my fingers for you...

I thought that once they recieved the medical resluts the visa would be issued, but it's not. After they recieve the medical they to the background check, clearance ect.... Does this ever end. That's the stage our application is at right now. They have been doing this for two months, how long can this take??? On May 10/08 which is Satuarday my husbands application has been in process for one year..... Just to give an idea of how Haiti has been working hard all year!!!

I understand your frustrations Castro, I mailed off our application in October 2006. Haiti didn't even start looking at it until April 2007. This has been one hell of a long road. When they do respond to me they just keep telling me that they will be finalizing our application soon!!!! Well I guess myself and Haiti have a much different understanding on what the word 'Soon' means......

Default Haiti apologizes

I received an email from my MP's office today stating that Haiti had made a mistake surprise surprise, and my husbands medical is only good for one year just like we all said, so to make things better they extended his medical until May 24th, this is their way of saying sorry. So MP sends an email back saying if it is extended until May 24th does that mean they are close to finalizing his application, the MP has not heard back. So I am hoping they respond that they are almost done adn we don't need another medical. If they say they are not close then I will go ahead and send my husband for yet another medical before they send the papers to him, I am tired of waiting.
