Question late declaration and the visa process..

I am an american citizen and have been working and living in the DR for the last two years. My dominican boyfriend and I would like to marry and move to the U.S. sometime in the near future. Here´s my issue.. My boyfriend was declared very, very late (at age 25!) and has only had his cedula for a couple of years. I´m aware that he will need the acta extensa, but I´m just wondering if his late declaration will be problematic. I´m curious to know how much this will complicate our visa application process. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to DR1.

Not sure for the US but people have posted that you need a letter of explanation as to why he was registered late and have it stamped/legalized

For more specific answers please visit this website Dominicans to the USA - Index

Good luck

Thanks for the plug Anna!

She will need plenty of lead time if he has never gotten a BC before. There may be some legal work to be done.
