how do they know the answers to things like what I like for music and books etc? they don't talk to me?

These are questions that they will ask your spouse about you.

A genuine couple should know what kind of music each other listens too, what kind of toothpaste they use or what their favourite foods are etc.

They are looking to see if he knows the small things.

It isn't really about what they answer, it is about how quickly they answer and if they know the answer.

I've noticed something following the visa forum, a lot of people are interpreting the document checklist a bit differently from me. We are supposed to send in an original copy of the Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate. To me, that means an Original, a lot of others interpret it as a photocopy.

We sent in our originals (no photocopies) and were never asked for anything else, or an interview. I also had an immigration consultant look over my application before sending it and she confirmed that the documents should indeed be originals.

Reading the forum, it seems like some people have also been asked to send photocopies later, but I think the originals are always necessary for processing. I've also read here several people who were asked to send originals later.

Anyway, that's my two cents on how to speed up, or avoid slowing down, your application. Good luck.
