Don't waste your money. They will take it but will not give him a visitor visa. Others have tried it before. It's hard enough but when you are already in one process they will defiantly not give it out.

Sorry

I agree with AnnaC. They will take your money, however they rarely ever grant a Temporary Residents Visa.

Not a very good chance they will give you a visitor visa. Very slim chance.

Has anyone heard of them granting a temporary resident visa on compassionate grounds?
My father is dying. He is in a hospice and has only a few weeks to live. It is an extreme hardship on my wife and I to be apart at this time. She is very fond of my father and loves him dearly, and he absolutely adores her. I do not want my father to die without seeing her again; for both of their sakes. As for me, I find it very hard to be without my partner during this very difficult time.
Are there any cases they have granted a visa under such circumstances? We are in process for permanent residency and I fear my dad will be gone before they make a decision. She would not qualify for a temporary resident visa under the current criteria as far as I know.
I am quite sure CIC does not make decisions based on compassion but I thought I would ask.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I remember reading about a case, maybe a year ago where a girl got her boyfriend a visitors visa. The grounds were something like, the girlfriend and her parents had lived in Dominican Republic for a few years when she was younger. She had a friendship with this dominican boy who eventually, when they got older developed into a serious romantic relationship. Eventually they went back home (I'm pretty sure it was Canada). The girl's mother became ill and she was going to die and so she wanted to see her daughter with her dominican boyfriend again before she died. Also, since they had lived there the mother was also very close with the Dominicano. So I think when they applied they told the circumstances of everything and in the end he was granted the visitors visa.
I'm going to try and search for the thread now because my description is very vague...

Thanks tink I was doing a search for that thread.

Can west the only thing is that the couple was not in the process so I'm not sure how Immigration Canada would look at your case but it's worth a try.
