Default Bring Forward Dates..re Immigration Canada

Can anyone tell me if they have received correspondence from PAP before their 'bring forward date'? Just finished talking to my MP's office and they informed me our bring forward date is Nov. 30. Also, mentioned to them we had not received ANY correspondence confirming receipt of his file and they said to email them to confirm receipt as we have been in process since June 2.

Look forward to your replies.

I have never been told my BF date from my MP. I've heard of it, but never came across it. My MP told me this week that as of September 14 our file says we will need an interview - but I haven't heard anything from Haiti. Nothing.

I believe the bring forward date is the date which your file will next be reviewed by the immigration officer who is working on your file. I could be wrong... please correct me if I am.

Thanks Tink23. That makes sense. Another question...is the bring forward date when they decide if you are approved or need an interview?

I calculated based on Barbie38's timeline and it will be approx 5 months & 3wks from the "in process" to the bf date. If that is roughly the time it takes than my hubby's bf date for his application will be sometime at the end of January or Feb. because on the website it said "In process" on August 31st.

I was hoping it would be sooner...we'll keep praying. Looks like we'll be spending Christmas & NYE in sunny DR!!!

Jess

Found a definition on the web for the bring forward date it reads:

The bring forward date will tell you when your application will be put on an immigration officer's desk for formal assessment. This is when you will discover if you have been granted an interview waiver. Please note that the bring forward date is not guaranteed and should only be considered as a time frame for an interview or selection decision.

It seems to me this is when they decide if you need an interview or will issue the visa. Let me know if anyone else interprets this differently

I'm already planning Christmas holidays there was hoping to have him here before our one year wedding anniversary in March.

Yes, that is the what the bring forward date is. So for me - it was bad news - I was hoping we would get the interview waiver (which everyone wants as it is quicker). So now I find out that I do need an interview and secondly that i'm probably too late for the October interviews which everyone in my time frame seems to be getting. So this is sort of bad news for us.

And, I know its hard, but don't base your timelines on others cuz that usually never is the case. Each case is different. Canwest and I are the same timelines and his wife is here already and others in my timeline have interviews in October, so its different.

I did offer to travel to haiti also, so maybe they will call us for an interview there. Its all a guessing game, a lot of hopeful thinking and a lot of disappointment. Its hard. Very hard.

I also thank everyone for their info. I too would feel lost without this site and all the things I have learned and questions that have been answered.

Jess, you're asking the questions and getting the info so I'm just following you as we're in the same time frame! lol

I too will be in the DR for Christmas and New Years celebrations unless we are blessed with an early Christmas gift!!!
