Visa to the US for my dominican wife... help!!!

I am a US citizen and I just got married to my domincan girlfriend. How hard is it to get her the necessary visa so she can come here or is this something I will need to pay a lawyer to do for me? I do not mind doing the legwork to save the money unless there are complicated things a lawyer will need to handle? Can anyone lead to me to a site or perhaps even a thread here that will tell me my next steps?

My wifes cousin Elizabeth just got her American residency Visa. She married a Dominican American with American citizenship about 18 month ago. Total time 13 months since applying.
