Default Visa to the US for my dominican wife... help!!!

I am a US citizen and I just got married to my domincan girlfriend. How hard is it to get her the necessary visa so she can come here or is this something I will need to pay a lawyer to do for me? I do not mind doing the legwork to save the money unless there are complicated things a lawyer will need to handle? Can anyone lead to me to a site or perhaps even a thread here that will tell me my next steps?

Congratulations and good luck. You might be in for more of a struggle than you imagined.

My wifes cousin Elizabeth just got her American residency Visa. She married a Dominican American with American citizenship about 18 month ago. Total time 13 months since applying. She's 24 and while currently going to University doesn't have much education, has very little money, and speaks no English. Currently works a teaching assistant. She's cute as hell though.

Its all doable by yourself , with your wife getting all necessary documents . You don't need a lawyer . Use the website listed above its a great resource.
