Default Haiti & The Dominican Postal Service?

Hello,
I am waiting patiently as I can lol, but I was reading through the completed timelines and the uncompleted timelines and I am wondering how Haiti got into contact with everyone. My husband's mailing address is a small caserio off a small city. Most people that live in el caserio don't even know their own addresses. Do they usually send letters, requests, info, etc by mail? or do they call or send emails? What if we miss a letter and don't fulfill one of the requests?

Thanks to all

Keep on keeping on!

I cannot say for sure what will happen, but there are few areas that are well serviced by the Dominican Postal system. It is simply not reliable for something that important. Couple that with the Haitian system that I know nothing about by suspect the worst, I would expect mail to never arrive.

Hopefully the Haitian consulate knows enough to use a courier service that will seek out the area where your husband is a make a successful delivery.

you select what contact they want on your application. we had a lost letter and so it got sorted out a bit late but eventually. but that was our fault for selecting contact us by mail and not filling out the representative form so that the letter would also come to me. someone on this forum will know for sure - but my understanding is if you have filled out the use of representative form they will also contact you when contacting them. They do this now for us even without the form - but when they first sent that letter they sent it only to my husband and it never arrived. When I sent some new information to them and asked for it to be added to our file they replied to me with a copy of the letter we never received. I just sent it to the general email address for Haiti and included my husband's name and birthdate and our Client ID number from Canada. if you've been waiting a really long time (it had been over six months inside Haiti for us) you could send an email to the general address saying you were just wondering if you could be provided your B-file number. They are supposed to provide that so it should get a response - hopefully in not too long. Just give them a while to answer - as they only answer your last email in the order of all emails received - so if you send multiple emails you only get a response to the last one. when you use the general email address you get a confirmation that your email has been received right after sending it.
