I doubt it. At present only two reported deaths and they were not from injuries but were brought on by fright. The first and worst was between 12:45 and 1am last night. That is when any damage was done.

Ken, I do not want to spread rumors. I do not know if this was confirmed or not. So take it for what it's worth. Other boards list reports of five dead in Puerto Plata, and looking at the destruction there in a few places it would be easy to believe at least that. Alba's family had been told by a PN in Esperanza there were 2-3 dead there.

I am sure there will be some, once they get to sorting through the rubble in a few spots. We're just very lucky this didn't happen 12 hours later during the day or it would have been pretty bad I think.

XR, you could be right. I was going by Dolores' report this morning. She indicated that she would have an uptodate report around 4pm.

Yes, during day would have been worse, especially if I were in the gym, where I am most mornings. The gym owner talking about moving to a new location. Hope he can get that heavy equipment down ok.
