Friday was a very hot blue skied day until late in the afternoon when it rained in some scant areas of Santo Domingo. We are talking hot here, with temperatures of around 34C. The good news is that it cooled off somewhat in the late evening, early morning. But cool is 28C.
This morning at 8:39 am, the skies are overcast. It is very humid, and looks like rain for today.

Actually it didn't rain yesterday in Santo Domingo, and was just a hot hot day. This morning at 8 am there are patches of gray clouds all over the sky, mixed in with patches of blue. A light breeze makes the heat bearable.

No rain yesterday. Actually was a very hot Mother's Day. My thermometer is showing yesterday's max was 35C (95F) indoors, so the story in the El Caribe of a peak 38C (100F) seems possible. Don't know if that was the temperature in Santo Domingo or other place in the country. Story says this was registered from 1-3 pm.

Right now at 10:40 am it is overcast, and while humid, not as hot as yesterday. Temperature is 30C (86F)

Wow! From what I'm reading, it seems to me that Santo Domingo is hotter than Havana in the summer. In Havana when temperatures reach 95F people don't know what to do. It is a record. I think it was last year when temperatures went up to 96F one day and it broke the record as the hottest day since the XIX century! And that was in August, not late May or early June, as is the case in Sto. Domingo today.

Very pleasant day today. At around 7 am there was a short shower in some parts of the city, cooling off the day to come. Then blue skies for a while, but gradually the sky has become overcast and hazy in many parts. It is all the humidity in the sky. My thermometer is posting a temperature of 30C (86F), with an early morning temperature of 25C (77F). It was pleasant last night. The maximum in Santo Domingo yesterday was around 35C (95F).

A blend of light blue hazy skies, with some patches of dark blue with accompanying hot blazing sun in other areas. Temperature outdoors is about 32C (90F) at noontime.
