No rain yesterday. Was at the Italian Embassy last night for the Italian day celebration and wow was it hot in the open air terrace. I knew it would be hot so dressed appropriately, but the men wore suits and ties because the invitation read -- traje oscuro. So you had them all sweating in the heat.

Interesting that when walking outside the house through the most lovely and large front yard it was cool and there was even a soft breeze. Made us think that Ambassador Sfara and his wife, the best of hosts, should consider next year hosting the effort on the front yard. I suppose they could set out some kind of protective covering for the grass where people could gather.

Others commented that men should seriously consider using chacabanas or guayaberas in summer.

Today at 1:35 pm, weather is about the same as yesterday. Mostly light blue skies, overcast in some areas. It's hot. Yesterday's max in Santo Domingo was 35C (95F). Good news is that in the evening it cooled off to 25C (77F).

Light breeze made this morning pleasant. The skies are overcast, some grey clouds with patches of blue skies. Very humid in the afternoon. Early morning was around 25C (77F), very pleasant, and a noontime high of 29C.

Very humid today. Overcast. At around noon it rained although for just a few minutes. About 30C (86F) now. Cooled off last night though, with temperatures dropping to 25C (77F).

It rained last night clearing away lots of the humidity. This morning there are blue skies, while it is partly cloudy. There is a light breeze, and the temperature is a pleasant 27C at 10 am.

At 4:15 pm, it's windy, skies overcast with like a dense light gray blanket. Light drizzle, looks like could turn into lots of rain for the rest of the afternoon. This morning it was sunny and bright.

7:57 pm. Still Sunday. Actually, all we got was the drizzle and the skies seemed to clear up. It's a pleasant evening. There was this out of the ordinary sunset of dark red on the horizon.

Cloudy, a pleasant 27C (80F). Woke up to a chilly 24C (74F), great for sleeping.
