Of course since yesterday I said there "should be some scattered showers" after the downpours of Tuesday, not a drop fell and it turned into a beautiful sunny but pleasant temperature day. Weather was perfect yesterday.

Today, there are lots of clouds that could bring rain, but meanwhile, has been sunny this Thursday, 4 November morning.

No rain yesterday. Chilly last night, about 22C (71F).

Lovely day today at 1:36 pm. About 27C (80F).

Sunday was a lovely day until the late evening. Then, it rained and rained, on and off until dawn.

Today, Monday, 8 November, the skies over Santo Domingo have been overcast with patches of gray clouds. No rain yet, at least in the Julieta area. It has been slightly windy. Looks like rain, latter today.

I am told there is a cold front in the area that will last a couple of days.

Would say temperature is about 26C (78F)

I am invited to an outdoors dinner tonight on a terrace. If I were the host, would be making alternate plans.

See http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov/pub/data/text/FZNT23/KNHC.TXT for info on the cold front.

Weather turned out to be better than expected yesterday. Rained only slightly for a short burst in the afternoon, and the evening on the terrace went fine. Not a drop. It wasn't even too chilly. A pleasant 26C, would say.

This morning, Tuesday, 9 November, feels a degree or two cooler. Skies are overcast, but it just looks like a day of cool weather, and on and off rain drizzles.

Yesterday, my forecast of a day of cool weather came through. Since I forecast on and off drizzles, there was no rain.

The weather forecast, nevertheless, is that bad weather has settled upon us for the next couple of days. The satellite photos show the DR overcast and lots of rain is forecast for the entire island. Will be in Puerto Plata over the weekend, so hope it clears.

Looking out from my terrace, though, the skies are less overcast than yesterday. So let's see how the day develops.

Regardless, according to the National Hurricane Center of Miami, Florida:
Heavy rainfall is forecast for the island of Hispaniola and Puerto Rico during the next couple of days. Furthermore, its weather report today indicates that a tropical wave is moving over the central Caribbean, being at 71W south of 18N, which puts it right smack on top of the DR, and was moving west. The wave is being masked by a broad area of low pressure over the central Caribbean. The area is affected by a cold front, with chilly weather conditions and temperatures of around 20C to 27C during the day.

Quite windy this morning and chilly, overcast but the sun is out and the wind seems to be keeping the rain clouds dispersed. (report at 11 am, Wednesday, 10 November)

Yesterday, Wednesday, turned out to be a beautiful day with blue skies. This morning, at 9 am, starts out as a lovely day. Some clouds, but temperature is pleasant.

I guess the rain clouds did take the northeastern track, as forecast, and have moved away from the island.

I knew it... just say it wouldn't rain and one gets a downpour. It is raining hard in Santo Domingo. And Hillbilly says same for Santiago since this morning.

It's been raining on and off all day now. And it's cold -- would estimate about 23C (73F) for this time of the year.
