After weeks of uneventful weather, just sunny days, we have a rare 26C noontime temperatures in Santo Domingo, and a windy day. Lovely weather. It had been heating up as the Dominican "winter" was coming to an end.

on the east coast we expect Sea level with 16-18ft swalls tonight, during tomorrow and tomorrow night.
Sea is at the moment more dangerous than it could be during a tropical storm.
we do not expect very high winds and neither much rain.
happy easter
Mike

So we got lots of rain last night, but it had turned into a drizzle by Tuesday and the sun was out and it turned into a hot, humid day. The Weather Department is forecasting more rain nationwide. So will see. Otherwise, has been quite dry in the DR and Santo Domingo so far this spring. The rains are most welcome as the trees in the city were showing the effect of the lack of rain.

Hi Everyone:
I'm new to this and need information. I'll be traveling to Pedernales in late August for a week. I need help with what type clothing to bring. I know it's a hot tropical country but I'm concerned about the dengue mosquito. Should I concern myself with covering up with cool clothing or just dress like in any other tropical country?

Also, I don't know yet which hotel we'll be staying at. Dona Chava or Bartolina.
Does anyone know what size beds they have?

Any info of any kind will be greatly appreciated.

Muggy, but partly cloudy in Santo Domingo. Summer temperatures seem to be coming our way, but last night it cooled off somewhat. At 11 am it is 28C.

Santo Domingo has received some welcome rainstorms, with lots of rain, but not that long lasting. Normally, it has been sunny during the days with the rain coming in the late afternoon or evening.

Threatening to rain today, but no rain so far. Cloudy out there, but sunny enough to dry clothes. 28C.

Muggy, very humid and hot today. Feels like it wants to rain, but it's not happening. Anyway some of the highest temperatures this year, upwards in the 30s.

Looks like the hot summer weather is already here. It has been very hot and sticky this week. While the temperature is showing 28.4C (83F) it feels much hotter
