If that is true, then these latest Sat pix are lying, at least for Punta Cana, Bayahibe and La Romana.

I trust the eyewitness reports and those of people I talk to on the phone more than what we can roughly interpret from the satellite pictures. Many times I have seen one of the satellite photos showing full covering and it's been sunny here. That was why we started the eyewitness reports for dr1 and why we expanded the dr1 weather coverage. They are not lying, they are showing what their systems show and we just have to know how to correctly interpret them.

Also, the reports of posters on dr1 that are actually in those places. I think those are more reliable sources of information. I would encourage more of our readers in areas of the country to send in a report on how the actual weather is developing.

Here in Santo Domingo we are drenched after an evening and early morning of heavy rain. More rain now at 10:30am.

Smile Punta Cana weather

Hey...is anyone out there who is staying in/living in Punta Cana? I'm taking a trip there that leaves Saturday and I want to make sure the weather forecast is A-OK. Don't want to stay cooped up in a hotel room for a week!

Also...when the forecast predicts rain...what's the liklihood that it will last all day? Or are they just little squalls.

Any advice? It would be exremely appreciated! THANK YOU!

Not one drop of rain in Punta Cana since last night. Right now the sun is out and shining! All in all we were very, very lucky compared to the rest of the island. *knock on wood!!*

Hi all, We are leaving for our Punta Cana vacation next Sunday, Nov. 11 and we are wondering what the weather will be like next week. Will it be raining everyday? Should we reschedule our trip?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, same worries here.. arriving Sat 10th Nov. but everywhere I look the forecast shows T-storms, T-storms and more T-storms.
We are not cancelling but it helps if we know what we can expect, clothing wise (it would save me about 40 pounds if I can convince my girlfriend she will not need moonboots and a thick winterjacket etc) and also for our piece of mind.
Is it true that Punta Cana has a little bit better weather than the rest of the country and most of the day the weather is sunny besides a shower here and there mainly in the evening?
