It is now 6:46 am. It is dawn and we have experienced a few brief showers. There are scattered clouds. The wind is out of the ESE at 6 mph / 10 km/h. The temperature is 78°F / 26°C. Today we can expect a little Sun but be prepared for the day to continue with periods of showers and thundershowers. The daily high will be about 88°F / 31°C. The winds will be out of the SSE at 26 mph / 42 km/h. This evening we can expect the showers to continue with episodes of heavy rains. The winds will be from the SE at 11 mph / 18 km/h. Last night’s low was 78°F / 26°C. Tonight’s low is anticipated to be about 78°F / 26°C.

There is a tropical wave to the south of Puerto Rico producing some heavy squalls and conditions are favorable for it to form into a tropical depression; a factor possibly affecting the local weather in the next day or two.

Yesterday was another good day. We had plenty of Sun and variable clouds through the day. The late afternoon and early evening brought us some rain clouds with the brief but heavy showers associated with them. The late evening there was thunder in the area. The daily high temperature was 89°F / 32°C. The highest sustained winds were out of the E at 16 mph / 25 km/h.

It is now 6:53 am. It is dawn and there is one dark rain cloud directly overhead and we are experiencing a brief shower as a result. The air is thick with humidity. There is a cover of broken clouds, including the one overhead. The wind is dead calm. The temperature is 79°F / 26°C. Today we can expect a mix of Sun and clouds with high humidity and the possibility of scattered showers influenced by Alpha. The daily high will be about 89°F / 32°C. The winds will be out of the SE at 15 mph / 25 km/h. This evening we can expect variable cloudiness and some scattered clouds. The winds will be from the SE at 11 mph / 18 km/h. Last night’s low was 79°F / 26°C. Tonight’s low is anticipated to be about 78°F / 26°C.

Tropical storm Alpha is just south of Barahona about to transit over the island in a northward track. It will be producing heavy rains over the central part of the island and mountains, 4-8 inches and possibly 15 inches in some parts of the mountains. Travel to these areas should be avoided.

Yesterday was better than expected; the strong breezes and heavy rains associated with Alpha did not arrive. We experienced a few brief and local morning showers followed by episodes of Sun and clouds. The latter part of the afternoon the clouds thickened and the area experience scattered brief showers. The day was quite humid. The daily high temperature was 89°F / 32°C. The highest sustained winds were out of the E at 16 mph / 25 km/h.

Yesterday we were influenced by eastern edge of tropical storm Alpha. It toyed with us. Throughout the day there were scattered showers and varying levels of overcast transiting between light and dark with an occasional tease of Sun. The evening brought more overcast and but a finality to the showers. The daily high temperature was 82°F / 28°C. The highest sustained winds were out of the E at 14 mph / 22 km/h.
