Good morning. We seem to have fallen into an expected pattern - decent weather in the mornings - hot, sunny (a few clouds) humid and maybe a breeze. By afternoon the clouds roll in, maybe some rain and still humid. But our nights seem to be much cooler then normal. For those of us who live here and are climatized it is cool. For those of you visiting... no big deal. You might want to bring a light sweater or hoodie.

Today - hot, sunny, humid, almost no breeze.....

Hi All,

I am so excited, my boyfriend and I are leaving on Friday 12th Oct for a weeks holiday away from the UK. We are staying in Playa Dorada at the Gran Ventana - it looks so lovely! I have been visiting this site (a great informative and friendly site by the way) for a few weeks and have been paying particular attention to this weather thread!

Planner what do you think i can expect for the upcoming week? Do you think there will be a possibility for me to get a little tan? or will it be a wash out? i am so exicted just to be coming to your lovely country, come rain or shine im sure i will have a great time!

Good morning, we are greeting today with bright blue skies, 85F and almost no breeze at all! You can expect some clouds to roll in later in the day.

Yesterday we had rain from about 5:30 to about 8 pm....... It didn't interfere with prime suntanning hours.....LOL

Vicki - make sure to bring your sunscreen - you will need it. I think you have a fabulous attitude - regardless of the weather you will enjoy yourself! The Gran Ventana is a nice hotel. I will also recommend you get out of the hotel and see some of the area! If you want ideas just ask.

hehe, im not a mad english sunbather, my skin is important to me and i have packed SPF30 as i dont want to burn! I also have a cap to keep my head from the sun

Ooh there is so much i want to do! i want to go up in the cable car up the mountain, is that easy to get to and do? i would love to swin with dolphins and see some cultural sites.. im just wondering how to fit it all in one week! lol!

I believe Friday is Columbus Day in DR, will anything in particular happen or is this just like a bank holiday?

Yes, i think i will have a great time, come rain, shine, hail or high water, it will be just lovely to get away from the UK, relax, see some sites and have some fun and bonus that i will be there with the love of my life all to share it with me

Good morning once again. Let me tell you about the thunder storm we had last night!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWW Ok I swear it sat right over my apartment building for 15 minutes! One crack of thunder was so loud it scared the dickens out of me. The lightening was intense too........ Rain - yes it rained hard but not for a long time - about a 1/2 hour. The temperature cooled down significantly.

Today we are back to bright blue skies - HOT - HUMID and no breeze.

Vicki - with only one week you will have to pick carefully what you want to do. Check out Isaira Tours - Dominican Republic for tour info. And we don't have Columbus Day holiday here.

Good morning! Not quite as nice as yesterday but not bad........ We have some hazy cloud cover this morning. It is HOT and very HUMID today. We got no rain or clouds yesterday but I think they will roll in today!

It is easy to get sunburned in these conditions so be careful out there. And stay hydrated. One of the biggest causes of travellers tummy is dehydration....

hi everyone....i fly out on monday morning.....cant wait...is there a atm machine on site?......hope v. gasby your weddin is brilliant..and ginam i hope the weather is good for you...see you all soon...and everyone else goin out on the 15th(we will b the white ones!!!lol)
