Good morning again, another beautiful day in paradise. Makes me want to get out of the office and find a beach!!!

We have sunny skies, 82F and a very light breeze. Yesterday stayed nice most of the day with a few clouds rolling in late in the afternoon.

Have a great day.

Good morning, well if you don't like heat and sun then today is a nice break for you. We had rain overnight - quite a bit of it actually. And this morning we are overcast and chilly. Well - chilly for us!

It might clear later today but this would be the day to catch up on your sleep, your reading, maybe go shopping in town......

Have a great day.

Currently, weather conditions are horrible. We are witnessing severe rain on the north coast with lots of flooding. This seems to be a very usual storm and the seas are very angry. It's unfortunate for many that there was no severe weather alert or warning.

Seachange, seems like you are having quite a storm on your patch of coastline. See this satellite pic.

We have not had a good time of it the last 4 days. IT is COLD, WET and WINDY. For those of us that are climatized this is bloody cold! We have had a lot of rain and there are some problems with flooding. The system can only handle so much water volume.

The weather is playing havoc with people health it seems too. Everyone has "gripe" otherwise known as the flu. Well it is cold and flu season......LOL

If you are coming down on holiday right now you may need a sweater. But, most tourists don't feel the cold like we do!

Have a great day.

This unsettled weather is troubling. When I look at the animated satellite images, it appears as if there is a huge storm to the north east of us (Puerto Plata) in the ocean. It is unwinding (don't know if that is the correct way to describe it) and looks as if it is going to continue to dump periodic rain on us for an interdeterminate amount of days. What do you- who know more about this than me- think?

Good morning again. Our yucky weather is still with us. It is cooler then normal, very wet and windy. The good news is we have had a few sunny breaks - it makes this bearable. Right now it is raining and only 72 F - downright cold for me.

As to LindseyKaufman - I really don't know what you are trying to say - but lets be really clear - I do not profess to be a professional weather forecaster! I look out my window and tell you what it is actually like right now! If you have a problem with any of this - tell someone who cares!

I do this because I choose to - not because anyone makes me or pays me.....LOL

Have a great day!

Just want everyone to know that I had no other intentions on my original post except to ask for information from someone who could interpret the satellite image for me. I still would welcome that information.

I publicly apologize to Planner if my words in any way implied or could be interpreted that I thought she was not doing a good job. I admire her for her willingness to routinely post weather conditions as a service to DR1.

Planner, I look forward to your future reports both when I am in the Dr and when I am not.

Lindsey Kaufman

You mean this one?

A better pic of its intentions here in the loop
Central Atlantic Visible Imagery - Satellite Services Division

I don't think anyone could have possibly misinterpreted your request, Lindsey.

One forum which is great to check is the forecasters forum - on this weather system go here:
STORM2K • View topic - Models showing storm soon?

Then you can navigate your way to other forums there. I'm a bit hesitant to post it because it IS for forecasters & the last time I referred to it here a member of this board went & joined it & asked if she should move out of her home in the light of Olga coming through............ They found it funny too. But it's great to read the chat between forecasters & met people & pick up what they're thinking.

Tomorrow should be the last day of showers for the Puerto Plata Area. It looks like we've got three sunny days coming with an increase in temperature as well.
