Monday Dec 27
Hello everyone, we have another beautiful day here in Puerto Plata.
It is sunny, hot and not a cloud in the sky. We have almost no breeze today.
I am told the winds will pick up later in the week and possibly a storm will roll in late in the week. For now enjoy the stunning weather.
Have a great day.

Secret source of info...
Hi there, if I reveal to you my secret source I will have to kill you....
Seriously, my friend is a boat captain and follows a bunch of weather and ocean related sites. He indicated a high likelyhood that the winds will increase later in the week and the waves will get up...... I'll try and get more usefull information as time goes on....

Good morning. Well the nice weather has left us again. We had strong rain early this morning and it is currently overcast. It isn't quite as hot as yesterday probably because the sun is hiding....... And there is no wind...
I am hoping that this is short term and that the nice weather will return later today...
Have a great day.

Well I was wrong yesterday. The crappy weather has stayed with us. It is currently overcast, rainy and very windy. I'd say we have winds of 20 to 25 MPH.... Great fun if you are Mary Poppins...... Last night got quite cool and it was rainy and very windy all night.
I am definately hoping this changes for the better.
Have a great day.

It looks like a mixed bag of weather today, which is an improvement over the last two days...
We have clouds, we have some blue sky showing, no breeze and no rain at the moment.....
I have my fingers and toes crossed that we get some good weather for the holiday weekend!
Have a great day.

Friday Dec 31, New Years Eve Day
Hello everyone. Well the weather has turned really crappy again. It rained overnight and I woke this morning to lots more rain.
It is overcast, raining hard, with almost no wind at all. I am hoping it will clear later this afternoon for everyone!
Whatever the weather here, remember it is better then where you are or where you came from!
Have a happy and safe new year's eve celebration. May 2005 be all that you hope for and all that you need.
I am off to La Romana for a 4 day getaway! I will not post the weather until I return on Tuesday. IF something major happens I am sure someone else will update this forum!
Have a great day.

I am back from the south. I think I will get right back into my car and return!!!! What an amount of rain we had over the weekend and it has not let up.
It appears there is a storm stuck right over top of Puerto Plata. It isn't all that big on the satellites but is it ever full of water. The roads here are rivers.
The weather - very very crappy! There is almost no wind but torrential rain. Keep those umbrellas handy!
I had a fabulous time in the south! We had a very nice weekend weather wise and in every other way as well. The hotels do a great job with their holiday celebrations. Maybe I will post my own trip report!
Have a great day.

Living, the only thing worth dying for
QUOTE from Planner.
"Kiwicanuck = don't you feel silly when you miss the obvious? Don't worry we have all done it."
Thanks for your cheerful response to my earlier message to you regarding what part of the D.R. you were in. It was actually a typo on my part. I meant to ask which part of Puerto Plata you were in. Whether you were in the city of P.P. or Sosua or Cabaretty etc. or somewhere else in the Province of Puerto Plata.
Certainly I have been surprised by the relativity lousy weather you have been getting lately. Relativity lously by your standards only of course. I realise it's really your winter season etc.etc.
However has your weather been lately what could be considered normal for this time of year ?

I am located in Puerto Plata. My apartment is in the city, with great ocean views all the way to Sosua (on a good clear day). My office is just outside of Playa Dorada!
Can this be considered normal? I think this is worse then normal. YEs this time of year we will get more rain then other times of year, but this is ridiculous!!!
The good news, it has brightened up somewhat. I think we will have much nicer weather tomorrow. At least a girl can hope!
As for the typo - you know what they say = you just can't get good fingers these days!!! My fingers can't keep pace with my brain!
Have a great day!
