Yes Bill exactly last year we loaded my car up a few times after the storms, this year I have the security truck and guards to help. When we went through Moca we saw a few military trucks distributing supplies but we saw nothing from Sabaneta to Puerto Plata at all.... go figure.

Ladybird;

For the most part, I don'tthink theDR Gov isequipped by reason of training, nor intentions to render aid and comfort to their citizenry. There's too much of the "ME FIRST" in their psychological makeup for them to think in terms of other people.
It's a sad commentary on the DR, but there you have it.

Hmmmmm now why does that remind me of someone visiting Texas first to check all was ok before Louisiana, which was in the middle of Gustav.....

However it all seems very quiet here now, no rain, no thunder, nothing, Even all the dogs in the area are silent. Its eerie.

Default Sunday September 7

Good morning, we made it through the night. Electricity was on an off all night but mostly off. We had heavy heavy rains and winds.

This morning the rain has gone but we have strong winds, we are completely overcast but not looking like it is threatening more rain. I have a fantastic view of the ocean and it is surprisingly calm!

I hope everyone here is ok!

Have a great day.

In my part of Sosua all is looking good except still no power for over a day but that went off hours before the storm. You are very fortunate Planner to have had power.
The winds are strong sometimes but no heavy rain as predicted. Although where we are situated we are quite protected from the worse winds. I am soooooooo glad I moved away from the beach. In may be a dream to live in front of an idyllic beach but at times like these it can be a nightmare. I hope others fared as well as we. The worst for us was the hundreds of storm flies that arrived, we have loads of their wings all over the place. What are they? Cant understand how they manage to get in with everything closed up
