Well just in time for Paddy's arrival we had some clouds.. Now I will never get that chocolate..... Welcome Paddy.

Late yesterday afternoon we had a nice thunderstorm..... that is if you like thunderstorms. At times I could feel the whole building shaking from the thunder.....

It cleared up overnight and was a little cooler.

Today we have some high clouds, it's hot and not quite as humid as it has been. We have a very slight breeze.

Have a great day.

All this work to make sure we have great weather for Paddy... and he left.... I guess our weather was too good! Sorry Paddy you had to go! Come back soon.

In his honour we will keep the fabulous weather for a while yet. Today is over 30 degrees again, hot, humid with a nice breeze. We have some clouds building off to the east so maybe we will get a shower later.

Have a great day.

Smile Looking for warm weather in 10 days

Candadian here, and I am happy to say that I will be returning to DR again after 3 years. This time I am bringing my 7 month old baby and my 4 year old. And yes of course my husband to carry his golf clubs.
Watching very closely for good weather. We are staying from Sept 1 -10, and joining family from Scotland.
I will be watching the weather post daily, and (knock on wood) the sun WILL SHINE!. I have never had bad weather in the DR in 13 years.

As 'dickie baby' above - we're due to arrive in Puerto Plata on the 7th Sept for a 7 day holiday. I'd really like to know (from you experienced locals) what sort of weather to expect!? I'm terrified that this holiday may not be what we expected weather wise (we never thought about the hurricane threat)... .. .

Any info much appreciated... .. .

Thanks!

Good morning, well today we are overcast and slightly cooler then it has been. We had a nice storm pass through last evening and what a difference it has made. The dust is gone from all the trees and buildings, the temperature dropped at least 8 degrees and the humidity was lower last night. What a pleasure to sleep.

Today we have mostly cloudy, no breeze, it is 26 degrees or about 79. It is quite a nice day actually.

Dear Monkey, I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy your holiday. It's a long way to come for just 7 days! You will be wishing for a longer stay. The weather will be hot and humid. You will see rain showers, they tend to build up over the afternoon and then dump on you in the late afternoon or early evening. They tend to be short lived. Recently our weather has been really stunning for August!

As for Hurricanes or tropical storms, don't worry about it. It is very unlikely you will see anything like that.

Bring your sunscreen, mosquito repellent with high DEET content (at least 24%) and shoes you dont' mind getting wet. Remember that flip flops can be very dangerous on wet floors!

Also bring your sense of humour and be ready for adventure and you will have a great holiday. Get out of the resort and have some fun.

Have a great day.

Too funny Freaky......

Well we are getting the thunderstorm out of the way before you get here. It has gotten very black outside my office windows. We have thunder and lightening and it is raining hard right now! Don't worry this will pass fairly soon.

Travel safe! See you soon.....
