Here is reality: you will get some thunderstorm activity. It will most likely be relatively short lived. you will get sunshine, so bring the sunscreen. Bring good quality mosquitto repellant with at least 22% DEET. Bring an umbrella if you can. Bring shoes that can get wet, a thunderstorm here can drop a lot of water quickly, but it is warm water....LOL
We cannot predict what will happen. We've just had the most incrediblly gorgeous 2 or 3 weeks you can imagine. Normally we get more rain than this.
Don't worry, you will get enough sun to make you happy.

YOu are very welcome Mike.
Update: the skies have mostly cleared, still a few white clouds up in the sky. THe winds have picked up as they usually do in the afternoons. It is still hot and humid.
Have a great day.

Hi Planner
Well I've been back in the UK now for a week, weather nothing near what we had the 2 weeks we were on your wonderful island.
Shame we could'nt meet up, but the maids thank you for not, as they ate all your chocolate!!!!
Certainly recommend the Iberostar, what a wonderful hotel.
Keep up the good work
Regards

Good morning. It is a truly stunning day here in Puerto Plata. THe sky is bright blue, not a cloud to be seen, it is 32 degrees already (90F) and there is just barely a breeze.
Have a great day!

We finally got some rain last night. I was sitting in a restaurant just off the Malecon about 9:30 when the skies opened up. We got a typical tropical shower. It poured for about 20 minutes and then stopped! Immediately things were a little bit cooler.. it was nice.
Currently it is about 30 C or 87 F, it is humid, partly cloudy skies and no breeze at all.
Have a great day!

Greetings from Puerto Plata.
Got an email from Planner, she had some trouble with the internet connection, so here we go with the weather report for Puerto Plata.
Yesterday evening we got a short shower again, and it cleaned the air.
Today we have a blue sky, light breeze and some clouds gathering up around the mountain Isabel de Torres.
We can expect a more cloudy afternoon.
Temperature is around 30 C, so it is hot and nice!
Have a good day!
