Smile LIVE from Occidental Grand Flamenco \ Punta Cana

Hi guys,

Like promissed here a damage report form Punta cana. We arrived yesterday the 25th and on the trip to the grand flamenco we could see some damage to some buildings

Once on the resort, EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE. On first sight I would say u couldn t tell there has been a hurricane at all, amazing, I,m sitting in the main lobby and everything looks splendid ...

When u look closer, u can see that some cosmetic repairs are being done, the main restaurant is fully operational, but u can see the water damage to the ceiling. Also some buildings have some roof damage. The staff is working 24>24 to do repairs back stage.

To be short > The weather is Great, the beach is fabulous, the water is clear, food great, pools clean and open, ...

Cheers,

Jan

Default damage???

Hi Jan, how is the situation at the barcelo bavaro palace? We have booked for the 18th october. Our traval agent offered us this new locatio due to the closing of the bavaro beach. Is the area badly damaged. I have been told that the golfresort is still closed. Hope to hear from you. Thanks, Lizzy

The Bavaro Beach is not closed. If you have been upgraded to the Palace, go ahead and take the upgrade. All to your benefit. The area is not badly damaged. The golf, caribe and casino resort of Barcelo were closed. But remember since this is slow season, it could have been primarily a company decision to renovate these areas in view that the slow season would be even slower. Meanwhile, you get the upgrade.
