Riu Merengue in Puerto Plata in good shape?

I am coming to the Riu Merengue in Puerto Plata 11/25-11/30. Did the hurricane do much damage in that area? Is everything ok for travel?

Cosmetic damage only; fixed and operating normally.

I just got back from the RIU Bachata and had the joys of the hurricane. They did an amazing job of securing everything and having every one in their rooms by a certian time. They then called everyone in the morning to let them know it was ok to come out. There was just alot of tree damage but no structural damage.

I just got back from Bachata also...There was maybe 10 trees that were down, but everything else was great. The beach did seem a little more dirty then usual, but nothing major. Try and switch from the Merengue to the Bacahata...it's nicer
