Default Bridges Out - El Seibo & Miches

It was reported just before 9:00 am on the local Higuey/Bavaro radio station FM 106.9 { Sobre Las Olas } bridges from Higuey to El Seibo and Higuey to Miches have been damaged/destroyed because of the run-off water from the recent rainfalls. They comment that Miches is now cut-off from Higuey.

This is the first information PJT has received of this occurence. There was no further information to confirm the exact bridge locations and extent of damage. Going to El Seibo the damage could be at the Rio Soco and to Miches it could be any one of groups of small river crossings.

The immediate impact of this is the alternate route from Higuey to Santo Domingo by the El Seibo-Hato Major-SPM corridor will now to be diverted through La Romana after the Rio Chavon provisional bridge in the Higuey-El Seibo corridor. Traffic from Miches to Higuey will have to go to El Seibo-SPM-La Romana.

It would be of great assistance if this happening can be confirmed.

Regards,
PJT
