Rain in May

Does anyone know what the rain is like this time of year especially in Samana? Do the "Scattered Thunderstorms" last all day or just a few minutes then they're done? Do Storms come and go all day? Is my beach trip going to be all rain and clouds? I fly down this coming Saturday the 19th.

and my buddy told me it never rains there....and it poured the day we went hunting there !! ha ha
