Hi everyone

Bloody typical we in UK have only just heard about the TS. I have been offline a few days and have only just managed to log onto here.

How is everyone? Was Luperon and surrounding areas affected?

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost the precious things in their lives, may the angels watch over you all.

Good morning all,

Well I hope things are looking better for you today - from the satellite pics it looks as though things may be getting better.

Here's the latest report from the BBC here, I've not had a reply yet to my complaint about their coverage of this - I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get one, and I'm pretty certain they won't publish the complaint as I'm sure they know they should have done better!

Keep us poeted on how things are, my family (in-laws) out there are all fine and our thoughts are all with those less fortunate now.

Downpour in Santo Domingo at 6:45 this morning, but it looks like it's brightening up.

According to the news on TV this AM (channel 23 in Sosua)

They report the following.

3,900+ homes lightly affected.
600+ homes completely destroyed.
Here's the strange part.
He goes onto say (listened to the same report twice, and there is no mistake) that it makes a total of 14,000+ affected homes.
Did he have 10k homes in his pocket?
Is he bad at math?
I don't know.
Anyhow, the last figures they give are deaths.
They claim a total of 56 deaths from the storm.

PS: They are also showing video clips of multiple truckloads of products being brought in for relief.
So I can't say how much is being done, but they are on the job somewhere in rather large proportions.

Maybe the confusion was between 'tres mil noveciento' and 'trece mil noveciento"? Easily done.
