I totally agree with you, plus you get the satisfaction of personally seeing someone smiling and happy.

It is no secret that in the USA a lot of paid employees will sort through the donations and select the best items for themselves and their family. The rest will make it to those truly in need.

I also see that many containers of donated items are stuck in US ports because they are overweight...............!!

have any of you wonderful helpful people been to barahona around maria montes? i taught there for a while, and can't get in contact with anyone or find any information from where I am (Australia). It's a shanty area so I'm desperate to find out about them. Also Batey Central (where I lived) although I imagine they were ok.
