Default Santo Domingo - Major Flooding (photos)

On my way to the office this morning I took some photos with my cel phone.
This is the worse flooding I have seen in Santo Domingo.

The corner of Nunez & Gustavo was blocked as it was under 4 feet of water.
The new lagoon/pumping station they built was over flowing, amazing!

Many streets on my way to work heavily flooded, especially the ones close to Gustavo Mejia Ricart.

I'm sure some barrios are really feeling it right now
Would be good to hear from those out and about or in other parts of the city.

Privade driving towards 27.

Privada.

Gustavo Mejia Ricart.

Gustavo Mejia Ricart, one big river!

Front of our office building, is it getting deeper?

Trucks and Jeeps only

Looks like it may have been worse over night.

It's 10am and it's still raining!!!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
If it's that flooded in those areas, I can just imagine what the low lying areas look like, and it still ain't over.

There are pockets of areas such as the one in front of our office all over the city. That is the reason why pickups and SUVs and high up vehicles are so popular here. The good news is that the area does drain rather quickly once the rains stop.
