Default What to expect weather wise in Oct/Nov?

Hello again,

Not posted for almost 3 years since our first trip to your beautiful Island were we just dodged a hurricane in mid September '05(Ivan?) but still had a great time meeting the people of Romana and further afield around Bayahibe.

Just booked again but this time for the North and wondered if by going a month later the weather we experienced in the south(humid with showers)will be similar this time round in the Puerto Plata area.

Regards.

Victor.

Hi

The weather during those months are hot and humid with intermittent showers sometimes early morning, evening or overnight. Nights are humid as well. But overall you have avoided the hurricane season and the crowds as these times are offseason.

Just to keep the facts straight .. not really off-season as far as the hurricane season is concerned. The season is June 1st to Nov 30th. In the DR and in the Caribbean Basin and Central America, the most devasting storms this past year happened after the hurricane season. Not as hurricanes but tropical storms that carry a whole lot of water .. and deploys it destructively.

For vacations and holidays you would probably not be affected at all.
