Here are pics of sky at Cabarete in front of Ocean One taken at 6:30 pm. Getting very dark now and lots of thunder, not a lot of wind and no rain.

Default 18:30 POP it looks like it's about to start

I spent the most part of this afternoon up and down the Malecon.
It was breezy only on the West end (San Felipe fort on the Puntilla).
But now the wind is picking up, it's getting dark and some rain... it all looks like we're getting a storm after all. Power is out (already!?!), running on batteries and have the generator fueled up to jump-cool the freezer ever 4 hours or so. I'll be a long nite... I hope cable TV service and Internet will hold up as long as I do.
And we hope the best for all who are not so privileged to live in a concrete home apart of some river...
Strong rain is just kicking in as I write.

It IS raining quite heavily. Not much wind... rain falls at 3 degree angle off plum only. Occasional lightnings most too far to hear... some only distinguishable after more than 5 seconds.

Quiet in Juan Dolio although the clouds are moving to the east which always makes me nervous. Anyone have any insight into this phenomenon?
