jcclark,
which part of the caribbean you are visiting to???
Amyha,
PC been not threatened in any way by anything since years,
sure it is fine, til now.
we have a arly on sunny humid cloudfree day with highest 80'sF and sure no rain nearby.
the whole atlantic basin has aside of Ike's path far away from PC nothing bad in vicinity of the satellite shots.
the whole caribbean is not just one spot with the same weather all over.
NY does not have to worry about the weather in LA neither.
Mike

See MikeFisher's forecast above for weather for the net coming days. Looking good for Punta Cana. Just keep on coming back to this thread for updates.

Hi there

Sorry to bother you all but was wondering if you could hopefully put my mind at ease. I amn't the smartest when comes to indepth weather forecasts etc and my soon to wife and I are coming over to Samana to spend 2 weeks at Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado.

Alot of the newspaper headlines refer to the north and realise we're going to the west of the island but it was really just for any advice as to what weather we're likely to experience and query if there's any possibility we might face the horrible prospect of having to cancel?

Thanks very much in advance

Darren

Scottish Darren, when are you planning to spend time in the Samana Peninsula? After September the probability of storms is much lower.

Note: Samaná is the north east, not the west.

Pretty nice thunder storm we had in the early hours, again lots of rain and water on the streets.

Could it still be the tail? http://hurricane.accuweather.com/hur...sat&stormNum=8

Sorry about that! Would be helpful information given my request!

We're due to come over on Thursday 18th September. (Thanks for help so far)

I'm a bit worried now!
