Randy
Writer, Teacher, Political Junkie
Randy, your humble host, hails from the United States. Born in Ohio, raised outside of Boston, and educated in the real world. After graduating from a military university he spent several years in the US Army, serving in South Korea and the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. After dabbling in pharmaceutical sales and high-tech trading he ended up an educator, like many in his family.
Randy has lived in the DR for four years. He teaches social studies at a private high school and is finishing a Master of Arts in Diplomacy with a concentration in terrorism. Randy published "The Xpatriot" in 2004 (Available worldwide) and is currently working on another writing project entitled "Doing Business in the DR: Interviews with Expats" which will be available before the end of 2006 through DR1.
How did you end up in the DR?
"I came to the DR on vacation in 2002 and liked it. So, I went home...sold my house...put my dog on a plane and moved here. That's it."
Favorite thing about the DR?
"Many of the people."
Least favorite thing about the DR?
"The rest of the people.".
