Cool temperatures, the longest rivers of the Caribbean (Yaque del Norte, Jimenoa, and Baiguate), impressive waterfalls and the proximity of the tallest mountains in the Antilles, including Duarte Peak (3,087 meters) form a combination unique to the entire hemisphere. With a population of 40,000, Jarabacoa offers endless possibilities to discover the unknown in the Dominican Republic, its native flora and fauna, exuberantly colored gardens and spectacular views, along with the warm quality of its people who are engaged in flowers, vegetables, fruit and top-quality coffee production. And let us now forget that Jarabacoa also has culture to offer: painters, works of art and frescoes in the church in town. Our Villa is located on the outskirts of the town of Jarabacoa, often referred to as one of Dominican Republic best kept secrets home to the highest mountain in the Caribbean and the most breath taking waterfalls in the country. Quiet and peaceful, yet only thirty minutes from the larger towns such as Santiago, the villa has easy access to all amenities and ecological adventures, including rafting, mountain biking, trekking, canoeing. The town has shops, supermarkets and many estaurants for eating out. DESCRIPTION OF "VILLA" The villa is fully furnished and equipped and consists of: first floor: 1 bedroom with queen size bed and en suite, living room with open fire place and chimney, Satellite television with over 200 channels, desk, bar, terrace area running width and length of the house, hammock, sitting area, Second floor: 1 bedroom with a queen size bed, 1 bedroom with a single bed and bunk beds (2 single beds) 1 bathroom and 2 balconies. The ground floor hosts the billiard area, living room, stereo and radio dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, blender and all pots pans, equipment and appliances needed. The bedrooms have wall or stand up fans for your use. Exterior decking enjoys another dining area and sitting area, gas BBQ, sun loungers and a Jacuzzi. We have just installed air-conditions units in the villa, the use of the units are not included in the normal rental if you would like to use the air-condition units there is a surcharge of US$ 50.00 per day extra. The staff are on hand to help you, the maid will cook and clean for you, the gardener turns on the Jacuzzi, helps with BBQ and can help you orginise any excursions you choose. Dismissal of the staff is not permitted. In the company of professional guides, you will go through canyons and rapids to the feel of an adrenaline rush. You will discover places unknown to most. Action, nature, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. It includes basic training and the essential equipment: A wetsuit - Life saver- Boots - Protective helmet. In order to be eligible for the raft ride, you must know how to swim, be over 14 years old and in perfect health and physical condition CANYONING This exciting but risk-free experience begins in the headwaters of the Jimenoa River, the main source of the Yaque del Norte. You descend through canyons to the Jimenoa Falls, enjoying the crystalline and cool water in natural pools. Come along with us down the riverbed that winds down among the virgin woods of the central mountain chain. In the company of professional guides, you will receive the training necessary to enjoy this challenge to its full extent. WATERFALLS Let us take you by horse, jeep or Quad-Runner to Baiguate and Jimenoa, two of the main waterfalls in our country. Your visit will include a refreshing dip, a spectacular view, an easy walk down a path bordered by exuberant vegetation, wild fruit and palm trees. You will see and hear colorful and melodious birds. Don't miss the chance to encounter these two founts of life in our mountains. PICO DUARTE AND TREKKING Duarte Peak, 3,087 meters above sea level, is the tallest point in the Antilles. Join us for 3,4 or 5-day excursions, by foot or by mule to the roof of the Caribbean. You will go from the tropical forest to the pine forests of the J. Armando Bermúdez National Park, going up paths through thousands of ferns. You will see cotorra, papagayo or jilguero and other exotic birds. You will cross rivers and crystal streams, enjoying the spectacular view of three mountains, Duarte Peak, La Pelona and La Rusilla, all of which top out at over 3,000 meters. You will see the source of the Yaque del Norte River and the Tetero Valley, at an altitude of over 2,000 metros and the most preserved forests on the island. It will be an unforgettable adventure.
